Rochelle McCarthy is an associate at the Law Offices of Schurmer & Wood. She brings a wide variety of experience to the table. During law school, Ms. McCarthy clerked full time at various law firms while attending night classes. She gained experience in multiple areas of law including civil litigation, immigration, traffic tickets, labor and employment, special education, and more.
As a new attorney, Ms. McCarthy began her legal career at a plaintiff’s personal injury firm in Los Angeles. Her specialty was representing injured clients in cases involving motor vehicle accidents, slip and fall, and premises liability. Ms. McCarthy went on to work for a medical malpractice firm before finally returning to personal injury and joining Schurmer & Wood as an associate in early 2017.
Ms. McCarthy attended California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and minors in English and Legal Studies. During college she studied abroad in Germany and the United Kingdom. Ms. McCarthy went on to attend Southwestern Law School where she received her Juris Doctor degree and passed the bar exam on the first attempt. Ms. McCarthy also spent time in England during law school and attended courses at the University of London.
Ms. McCarthy is admitted to practice law in all California state courts as well as the United States District Court, Central District of California. She is a member of the Ventura County Bar Association, the Beverly Hills Bar Association, and the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA).
Ms. McCarthy is a Ventura County native with a passion for helping its residents. She currently owns a home in Simi Valley with her partner, Joshua. Ms. McCarthy speaks German and enjoys reading and writing in her free time.
